Q: What is SpecHomes.com?
A: SpecHomes.com is an online service that enables home builders to create fantastic looking classified listings, and distribute them to the internet's leading classified websites -- in minutes!
Registration
Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: Nothing. Registration is FREE.
Q: Do I have to register to use the site?
A: No. You can browse and search home builder listings without registering. You should still register, to save time, as the site will remember various preferences for you. If you want to add your listings, you will need to register. Registration is FREE.
Pricing and Payment
Q: How Much Does it cost to add listings?
A: Standard listings are FREE on our Builder Directory. Featured listings increase your exposure, and are available on a first come first served basis. Banner ads, and advertorials are also available.
Q: How Long Does My Listing Run?
A: Each FREE listing runs for a period of 30 days. Just re-run your listing from your account page to extend the duration of your ad. Featured listings are available in 30, 90, and 180 day increments.
Creating and Managing Ads
Q: Do I Have to Register to Create Listings?
A: Yes. You must be a registered user to create and add your spec home listings.
Q: I created my listing, but it does not show up in the search results. Why?
A: You may need to "Run" your ad. Go to your My Account page and click on "Run" to the left of the listing you wish to publish live to the site.
Q: I no longer wish for my listing to be active. How do I stop my ad from running?
A: From the My Account page, click on the "Stop" link to the left of the ad.
Q: What region should I put my listings in?
A: The region you live in, or wherever your target market is. The region you specified on your profile when you registered will be your default area, but you can change it at any time.
Q: Will my listings be visible in other regions?
A: Yes. All ads are visible in any region. Our system however, always show a person listings in their region first, then those from outside that area.
Privacy
Q: I don't want my name, phone number or email address to appear to all web viewers.
A: If you prefer, you can have all your personal information remain private. Update your personal privacy preferences from the My Account page.
Q: If all my information is private how can a buyer contact me?
A: When your ad appears, instead of showing your contact information the following appears: "This seller has chosen to remain private. You may contact this seller via anonymous email by clicking here." The prospective buyer completes an on-line form and our system sends you an email without revealing your information to the prospective buyer.

Regions
Q: How Do Regions Work?
A: SpecHomes.com covers the U.S. All states and any city with a population of 100,000 or more is listed as a region. When you register or create listings, you select a region. While browsing, ads in your region will be shown first.
Q: I don't see my city listed. What region should I choose?
A: Choose the local area closest to you, or the state you live in. If you would like to suggest an additional demographic area or region, drop us a note with your suggestion.
